Creating the wine cellar that you envision begins with a comprehensive design process to ensure that your collection is optimally adapted to your space, storage requirements and aesthetic desires. Our cellar design team works with you, your interior designer, architect and/or builder to assure that you achieve an astutely crafted, custom wine cellar worthy of your collection.
Our Process
Step 1. Consultation
We begin by determining your needs and discussing the vision for your new wine cellar. We review the cellar space, identifying design challenges and opportunities. Understanding how the cellar will be used is vital to our process and your ultimate satisfaction with the project.
Step 2. Design
After the initial consultation has been completed, and we are retained to create a design, our design professionals will produce your cellar layout with computerized 2-D drawings including a floor plan and detailed elevations. The design will also confirm the bottle count and the molding and trim styles.
From here, we can continue to fine-tune your design, until it meets with your satisfaction and prepare a final cost proposal.
Step 3. Production
Once you’re ready to proceed with your cellar, we confirm the final finished interior dimensions and finalize all design documents for signature. To initiate production, we will collect a 50% deposit.
The order is then placed into our production queue at our millwork studio, where highly-skilled artisans build your cellar cabinets with the utmost precision and care. The construction timeline is around 7-12 weeks.
Step 4. Pre-Delivery Review
Revel is structured to work seamlessly with clients and their teams across the country and around the world. Since our cellars are shipped fully assembled, this allows clients to avoid the cost of travel, room and board for us to send our own technicians. Prior to delivery, we provide:
- Detailed, easy to follow instructions;
- Wiring diagrams and electrical guide;
- Completed cellar photographs;
- Component numbering on both the drawings and components themselves;
We also conduct pre-installation conference calls with installers, electricians and other team members who may be involved with the project.
5. Shipping & Installation
Typically, our clients engage the services of their contractor’s personnel to complete the installation. We can also provide delivery and installation services upon request.
The installation process is quite similar to that of installing fine kitchen cabinetry and can be easily accomplished in the hands of an experienced cabinetry installer.
Your completed cellar components are shipped blanket-wrapped and fully assembled via a bonded and insured carrier.
